OUR SERVICES
AFTER CARE FOR PETS

We aim to provide first class service to the pet owners of Yuma and it's surrounding areas. We currently contract privately with local veterinarians.
​
We offer several options for after care:

Individual cremation where you can receive your pets ashes back to you in a custom engraved wooden box (not currently available for livestock). We currently offer an acacia wood urn included in the cost of cremation. Special order urns are available for an additional fee. Communal (mass) cremation is a gentle and respectful option where pets are cremated together. Because this process is shared, ashes are not returned to individual families. While your pet is not returned home, they are cared for with the same compassion and dignity throughout the entire process.
MEDICAL SHARPS REMOVAL

There is currently no local service that provides removal AND destruction of medical sharps (needles, syringes, etc.). This is a problem that we at Lakey Animal Crematory wish to solve. We will remove medical sharps to be disposed of at an off site location.
*We are not able to store sharps at our facility. Instead, will pick up from the generator monthly or as needed and transport sharps to a disposal facility.
BIOHAZARDOUS WASTE REMOVAL
Along with removal of medical sharps, we aim to provide removal and disposal services for unwanted/unusable pharmaceuticals, trace chemotherapy waste as well as red bag waste. As with the medical sharps, they will be disposed at an off site location.

Lakey Animal Crematory is a locally owned and operated business proudly serving Yuma and the surrounding communities. Our journey began in 2017 with a simple but meaningful goal to bring compassionate, local pet cremation services back to Yuma for the first time in over a decade.

Before we opened our doors, families were forced to send their beloved pets out of town for cremation. We knew there had to be a better way, one that kept pets close to home and returned them to their families quickly, with the care and dignity they deserve.

We understand that losing a pet is one of the most difficult experiences a family can go through. Our mission is to make this process as gentle, transparent, and supportive as possible. From the moment your pet is in our care to the day they are returned home, every step is handled with respect, compassion, and attention to detail.
